Dyed Window Tint Film is sold by nearly every window tinting shop in the country, including Carmel Window Tinting. Dyed window tint was the first type of window tinting that was invented. The first dyed films were inferior to the films sold and installed today. The old films were not scratch-resistant and would fade to purple in about 2 years in most climates, quicker in sunbelt states like Florida and Arizona.

Today's dyed window tint films have been engineered to be color-stable or color-fast, are scratch-resistant, lasting many years, and are usually covered by lifetime warranties, providing peace of mind to the customer.

Dyed films are a very inexpensive option for those looking for a budget way to have window tint installed on their vehicle. The dyed window tint films we install are high-quality, lifetime-dyed films that will last as long as you own your vehicle.

Dyed Window Tint is Good, But There Are Much Better Products Available

While all of our dyed films are a good value and will look good for a long time, They won't block heat and at times you may feel like they actually draw heat to the vehicle. That's the BAD news.

The Good news is we have other films that are specifically designed to BLOCK A TON OF HEAT. We have a NanoCarbon film that will cut the heat up to 67%, a NanoCeramic film that will cut the heat up to 88%, and then at the top of the scale we have a Premium NanoCeramic that cuts the HEAT up to 98%.

While dye technology was once the industry standard and only option, we have seen vast improvements to window film manufacturing in recent years. Dyed window film is old technology that is out of date. Newer manufacturing methods and technologies have provided much better options in heat management and overall solar protection for drivers.

Since it is our desire to offer the best possible technology to our valued clientele, we plan to drop dyed window films in the near future.
